This film stemmed from a childhood memory of collapsing informal houses--an image that has remained with me as a symbol of destruction and displacement. This haunting memory resonates with a deeper, ongoing fear of sudden upheaval. Our lives have been repeatedly shaped--and fractured-- by colonialism, wars, authoritarian regimes, economic collapse, and forced migration.
