Blue Enchantress

Overview

In 1907 Tianjin, two British soldiers assaulting a Chinese woman are killed by the vigilante known as the “Blue Enchantress.” The British consulate seizes the chance to pressure China, surrounding the local government and causing panic. Detective Dongfang Hongfei (Yu Rongguang) is sent to find the killer and discovers she is Zhao Zhuoya (Wang Siyi), a refined schoolteacher. The two fall in love, but Hongfei learns Zhao is also an agent for the Empress Dowager, secretly searching for the lost imperial treasure, The Eight Steeds Scroll. As revolutionaries rise, spies scheme, and foreign powers close in, the scroll changes hands again and again—its truth shrouded in blood, love, and betrayal.
