In the run up to Christmas journalist Mike Deacon is assigned to the story of a homeless man who starved to death in the garage of a very wealthy- and very secretive - woman. Who is the mysterious Amanda, and how is she connected to the dead man?

Mike Deacon, a man with no use for families or the festive season, finds himself spending Christmas Day with homeless youngster Terry, elderly lawyer Lawrence and devoted picture researcher Barry. Together, they try to make sense of new discoveries about Billy and their connections to Amanda.
