The evolution of the carioca samba beat since the beginning of the 20th century is the theme of this film. The process of introducing percussive instruments and their transformation to give rhythm the peculiarity it assumes in Rio de Janeiro is detailed. With rare exceptions, musicians, composers and percussionists from the world of samba, without musical training, are intuitive talents, who do not write scores, which increases the importance of recording this memory, guided by masters such as Marçalzinho, Monarco and Wilson das Neves.
