Filled with intrigue, betrayal and sacrifice, the issues of class, ideologies behind the formation of the overseas Chinese as a diasporic community are explored. Restored by the China Film Archive and subtitled by the Asian Film Archive, this immediate post-war local film is a historical document on the urban landscape of post-war Singapore and Malaya.
