Tomás Teixeira da Fonseca

Tomás Teixeira da Fonseca was born in 2004 and is a film student based in Lisbon. From a very young age, he showed a strong interest in inventing and telling stories, an interest that consolidated through cinema, a field he began exploring during his early school years. In 2019, chose a professional course path instead of the regular high school education, enrolling in a video course at Escola Profissional de Imagem (EPI), in Lisbon. This decision allowed him early and hands-on contact with the audiovisual field, developing technical skills and a direct relationship with the filmmaking process. In 2023, he entered Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias, where he is attending the third year of the BA in Cinema and Media Arts. Throughout the course, he has developed projects across different areas of cinema, with a particular interest in production.

RITA (2026) is his first documentary, in which he explores the human side of high-performance sport.
