Mariam Afshari

Afshari is an actress known for her role as Shiva in Iranian director Jafar Panahi's film "It Was Just an Accident" (2025), which won the Palme d’Or at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. She is also recognized for her work in the 2017 series Parisa. Afshari is a karate instructor and referee. In 2025 she got a Berlin Artist-in-Residence fellowship.
